European life revolves around food, family and friends. So how do European men and women control their weight better than Americans, despite This concern with food? It is simply through your portion size at each meal? France is well known for its pastries and croissants dripping with sweetness soaped and buns with hot butter goodness. And who has not salivated over European desserts with sugar-rich layers, or marveled at the French consumption of wine?
But Europeans also are known for their good weight maintenance. How do they do? This is portion control. Serving Sizes food in France and other European countries are very different from the United States. A ham sandwich portion size in France, for example, consists of a couple of pieces of thinly sliced ham, fresh tomatoes and spicy mustard on a baguette.
Take this simple, commonly lunch in France and compare it with a similar (but very different) experience in our own country. The sandwich of your local supermarket, has thick, heavy layers of ham, lots of cheese, mayonnaise or sauces special, thick, rich, sweet tasting bread! An additional problem for Americans is that our version of a sandwich also comes with a heaping pile of potato chips or french fries! When a portion of this type is just a sandwich is not surprising that the U.S. is the world leader in obesity!
The typical European Sweden in the north of Italy, in the south know how to reject large portions of foods that make bigger and calorific value. To be delivered to decadent desserts and rich foods on occasion, but they eat smaller portions of everything. Instead of eating a butter croissant in one session in France to be half a croissant or a small small portion of a rich dessert.
They understand the importance of portion control and serving portions allowing food to eat and enjoy, but not so much that the weight gain. His self-control responsibility is to control the portion of success. By limiting the size of the portion every time they eat, Europeans enjoy the benefits of eating any food they want and limit your intake of calories to prevent weight gain. Want to lose weight and keeping it off? We consider this approach!
