Although it's been a couple of years since I studied Spanish in Guatemala, I credit that experience makes me a beginner level oxidized to fluency. Fluency is a term too vague and in fact can be applied to different skill levels ranging from high intermediate to native speaker ability. Although there was studied Spanish in more than 20 years, for some reason, everything came back to me when I studied again at age 40 in Guatemala. After 8 weeks, I I felt very confident as a speaker of Spanish and relatively smooth.

Here are some of the reasons we have identified for success in a program Spanish Immersion Language:

• Attitude: I was in, that Spanish is quite easy and I had absolutely no doubt that I, with hard work, progress rapidly. To tell you the truth, this is probably the most important factor. I say this as both student and teacher of foreign language.
• I was a pro-active students. My teachers were not really trained in foreign language teaching and learning. If it goes too fast, for example, spoke and asked me to practice: oral practice.
• I studied grammar and writing paper made the exercises outside of class. Time class was to listen and speak.
• My teacher did not speak English, and home-stay family spoke no English.
• I read a lot in Spanish, the choice of books and magazines with topics of personal interest, to a level just above mine.
• Outside of class, I talked all the time with my family host, other students, on the street, on the market.
• At my request, my teacher corrected me after I finished speaking. Correction should not interrupt the flow of thought and expression.
• After my 8 weeks of study, I was in Latin America for 8 months and really consolidated what I had learned to real life practice. Not everyone can do. But you can join the club spoke in Spanish, classes, organizations Spanish use, and you can find partners to help.

These are not all equal and actually serve very different purposes.

While it is true that in certain situations, the "right" translation is inadequate (as in advertising, for example) is not true that all translations are good in the adjustments made. In fact, a good translation is not an adaptation. A really good translation must remain faithful to the full context of the source text in terms of meaning and style, appearance, recording and the message. The words used to express that are as important as the message, and while of course one must make concessions to what the reader or will not understand the language goal, the translator really can not afford to take the "liberties" with the text. If you are directed to a particular audience and is written in a special in the source language, should be directed to the appropriate audience and written in the corresponding record in the target language.

An adaptation, on the other hand, takes ideas from the source text and re-writes in a new way. The original text can be modified a bit to appeal more to a new audience (eg sector different marketing, class or age group, for example) or can be placed in a different environment. The adjustments are more common in literary, poetic or media advertising, where you can choose to waive any of the media (form) or the literal meaning for conveying a particular message or emotion, if one or the other is considered more important to the individual situation.

For example, a letter translated for use in court should tell exactly what is said, without changes to the message or the environment.
